The NPT Review Conference elected Iran as a Vice-President

The NPT Review Conference started in New York with the election of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a Vice-President of the Conference

This indeed is an acknowledgement of Iran’s role and advocacy towards a nuclear-weapon-free world.

Iran is one of the first countries to become a party to the NPT.

In 1974, Iran proposed the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East.

The Martyred Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran was the only Muslim scholar who issued a religious decree on the prohibition of nuclear weapons.

Iran’s principled position on the NPT is reflected in this motto: “nuclear energy for all, nuclear weapons for none.”
